Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate freight transportation, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, brokers, and clients to address any scheduling or route issues.
- Monitor driver availability, hours of service, and load assignments to comply with regulations and maximize productivity.
- Update and maintain accurate records in dispatching software, tracking shipment statuses and ensuring clear documentation.
- Resolve transportation issues promptly, including delays, reroutes, or customer inquiries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and drivers, fostering trust and reliability.
- Negotiate rates with brokers and customers, optimizing profitability while maintaining service quality.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year expereince as a dry van dispatcher within the U.S. trucking industry
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using dispatching software (Power DAT/Truckstop), spreadsheets and other relevant tools.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with U.S. trucking regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and DOT compliance.
Qualifications with added value
- Experience in freight brokerage is a bonus but not a requirement.
- Proficiency in English is highly valued, and a slight accent is not a barrier.
- Fluency in Spanish is beneficial.
- Tech-savviness, especially an interest in technology and systems, is an advantage and may lead to higher earning potential.
- Proactive individuals who bring innovative ideas to enhance operations are highly appreciated. However, if you prefer to focus solely on dispatching trucks, that is perfectly acceptable as well.
Payment Structure
- Fixed monthly salary, based on your dispatch capacities; plus additional monthly bonuses, based on percentage of your gross revenue delivered each month.
